Do hair products expire?

I just bought a heat resistant blow dry cream for my hair -- its is "Caviar" by the Alterna line, which is usually really expensive, but I got a good deal on it from a beauty supply store, the salesperson said that they were so cheap because it was overstock, or the company made different packaging for it. Well I put it in my hair today before blow drying and my hair felt and looked so dry and straw like--- never before has this happened! Do u think it was the cream? I am wondering if it is really, really old and thats why it was so cheap -- because it smelled funny too.

I have something from a Nexxus line that I have been using occasionally for about 3-4 years now! So I can't say that all hair products will expire. the stuff it is is a cream also a styling assistant

it's called Nexxus SleekStyle it's good for hair if you want it softer and straighter though I do not use it with irons just on days when I don't want to mess with it too much

maybe what happened with yours is that it was a bad batch which is horrible because it should not be on the shelves at all. should have all been sent back to the production warehouse and restocked entirely. i would contact the store and whoever made it and talk to their customer service. tell them what happened! !!! it sounds so bad for your hair.
