Well I bought the Babyliss Pro 230 straighteners Elegance for £ 35 from Amazon on sale but are now selling for nearly £ 50 (http://www.amazon.co.uk/BaByliss-2088U-Elegance-Bronze-Straightener/dp/B000QEWNQE/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie = UTF8 & qid = 1206889487 and sr = 8-1). I think these straighteners are really effective and work almost as good as GHDs. are also great for creating curls in her hair and heated very quickly. I have very fine hair and it takes me 5 minutes to do my hair with these straighteners but my friend who has thick curly hair straighteners also have these and take her 20 minutes to get to your poker straight hair. i strongly recommend these straighteners because they are affordable and very effective. However, I've never tried any other irons babyliss so I can not really compare to the others mentioned.
