Good, but questionable

My Cricket flat iron had cracked plates so I needed a quick, inexpensive replacement. I had never heard of the Corioliss before and was alarmed by the shifty mall kiosk marketing stories and lack of website info (see for yourself!). All the reviews I read were pretty 50/50, so I assumed the people writing reviews couldn't ALL be paid salespeople! I took a chance and bought it.**NOWHERE ON THIS PRODUCT DOES IT SAY "PRO FIX"** It could be just mine but I looked the product up on youtube and my packaging and box look NOTHING like the one in the video (mine only says "pro" and pink box instead of black). I don't know or care what "FIX" means but it is unfortunate that the product being advertised is not the one being distributed. Also, it made a few little hissing noises when heating up and smells a bit like Play-Doh.That aside, this iron worked well for my very thick curly/wavy hair. I only needed one pass per section for perfect smoothness. The fact that there is no temp dial does not bother me because I always use my flat iron on the highest setting or my hair will not straighten. I got pretty ideal results but this product is not a miracle worker (I, for one, say the CHI is better). I would say this is a decent purchase for the price but if you have the cash, go for something better.

Better than Herstyler

I bought mine off Ebay for $40 and it's honestly fantastic. I don't flatiron my hair often because it's a pain to do it, but I do prefer using this iron to my Herstyler flatiron. It works great, my hair comes out pretty shiny and it flows. Just always use a heat protectant, and this flatiron is your best friend. I also use this to curl my hair. I don't even own a curling iron, but with this, my curls come out perfectly.

Maybe I should have known that this was too good to be true. I pay $120 at the mall for the Corioliss two years ago. I needed a new iron so I looked online and found them selling for under $70. The iron I recently bought from Dead Sea doesn't straighten my hair unless I pass through the section 7 times. And then it's still not silky.Luckily I still kept my old iron and I made a comparison of the to physical products. The original iron is a lighter pastel pink and the new iron is a hot pink color. Notice: the color of the iron on the webpage is the light color of my old iron. Also ID numbers and tags are either omitted or in completely different places. I am not saying that it's a fake, BUT it straightens like a cheap drug store version and it looks pretty different from the one that I bought from the manufacturer. Caveat Emptor!!!I can't return it because I was one week over the 7 day return period. I guess I wasted $50. So I did research and bought a Solia Tourmaline Ceramic Ion Flat Iron for $94. It works perfectly.

Magic is Alive!!

This iron is simply amazing!! I had been using my old iron forever and had never been pleased with the results but just thought it was my hair. I decided that I would switch up my hair products and with that came the decision to buy a new iron. I have literally owned this iron for maybe a week and have used it recently to straighten my hair after using my new Aphogee products and my hairs looks Phenomenal!!!! I have never been so pleased with my hair after I wash it at home than I am now!!! This iron has to be made from fairy dust and magic!!! I LOVE THIS IRON!!! BEST 50 DOLLARS EVER SPENT!!!!

Prefer the Chi

Bought this flat iron after reading all the positive reviews online. It's the first time I would have to say I did not agree with the reviews. I only paid about $20 more for the CHI that this iron was to replace but the CHI is worth the extra bucks. It does a much better job. Leaves hair shiny and totally frizz free. I guess if you don't have frizzy hair in humidity this iron would be adequate but I did not find it to be at all. Wish I could return it.

This is thee best flat iron! I've had mine for over 6 years and it still gets just as hot as the day I bought it. My sister has gone through 2 different flat irons since I've had mine, and whenever she is over she asks to use mine. I highly reccomend this flat iron!!

I previously bought a HairArt H3000 Deluxe but it wasn't the professional model. After a year one of the plates fell down (I later learned that I could glue it back). The professional iron that I just purchased works great. Being an African American woman, my hair texture is naturally coarse and curly. With this new iron, it takes me half the time to straighten my hair out. It leaves my hair soft and very manageable (as though I had a relaxer). I love it. I do recommend that you use a heat protector on your hair as well as good judgments on your heat setting.

I have not too thick, waist length, silky hair. The straightener is great. I use it to create soft curls rather than as a straightener. I have never had my hair burnt or anything...the temperature settings are perfect. Also it is nicely built so that you dont accidentally burn you hand or ear. Great purchase for the price.

For 20 bucks it's a nice straightener. For full price, nah. It's OK. It glides nice on your hair, I'll give it that. It does a good job of straightening, but not any better than my regular metal iron.

Great flat iron. I've used more expensive ones that didn't work half as well. I have very tight curls and this iron gets my hair pin straight, and never any static problems. Going out in the rain and humidity has not given me a bit a trouble. I'm ordering another one for backup and also one for a fellow curly haired coworker. Buy it, you won't be sorry.

My older sister has this flat iron, and it was so great that I bought another one for our other sister as a birthday present. At first, I was a little hesistant because I hadn't heard of the brand before, but it really gets the job done (better than the iron from a well-known brand too). Yes, it gets pretty hot, but thats what you want right? Just be careful(: All in all, for the price that it is, this iron is really good, and I recommend it to everyone.

I have very curly hair, and have only been able to get my hair completely straight a few times in my life. It usually requires lots of smoothing serum, and using one of my friend's pricey Chi straightners. It always takes at least an hour to get it somewhat straight so it's never been worth the effort to me. After finding this one on Amazon, and seeing the price and reading the reviews I had to order one. It arrived in 3 days and I decided to "play" with it that night before going to dinner with my family. To my amazement, it COMPLETELY straightened my hair in about 15 minutes!! I was blown away! I used no smoothing products, and only had to go over most pieces once. I had to go over some of the curlier areas a few times, but I still have NEVER gotten my hair this straight in such a short amount of time! My family was so surprised when I showed up at dinner with smooth, straight hair! It's nice to finally have options for different hair styles after 28 years of curls. I love this product and wish it would stop raining so I can use it again!! :)

Works fine, just a whole lot smaller than I thought it would be. Thought I would get it for travel. Really only works on the bangs and hair around my face. Too hard to use it with all of my hair.

Not as good as the first one

I am sorry to say that this flatiron is quite inefficient. This is the second one I have owned and I find it hard to believe that they are the same. The first heated up nicely but this new one not so much. I would not recommend it.

Too small for me

I bought this item for my son to use and didn't realize how small it was going to be, I know it says mini but it's very small, I guess works ok, it just takes a little longer in the bathroom then the reg. size straighteners.

I am an african american and i have a short haircut. this iron is perfect for the shortest hair along the back of my head.it is easy to handle the hair either to curl it or straighten. the only complaint i have is that it gets so hot it can burn both your hand and your hair if you are not very careful.

I tried this mini iron at my hairdresser's and fell in love with it. It is much easier to manipulate than the full size Chi and works just as well. I checked my local beauty supply place and similar irons were over $50. I now use the mini iron almost exclusively and I highly recommend it.

i got this flat iron not know much about straignters and i hated it!!! it doesnt even get your hair straight. it will only work if you have really thin and straight hair. but it takes 15 minutes to heat up then once you use it for 5 minutes you have to wait for it to heat up again. now im think about getting a FHI.

It is a very poorly made product and does not deliever. The plates are not real ceramic and after a few uses the "ceramic" coating starts to peel off. It does not distribute heat evenly and actually ends up burning your hair. Please do your self a favor and just pay extra money to get a good quality flat iron. I know that the chi might be a little over priced but it works way better than this.

Not for thick or long hair!

I purchased this straightener when I lost my original one moving. BIG MISTAKE. My other one was the exact same size and straightened my hair in less than half the time. This one simply does not get hot enough to straighten my medium length, thick, and wavy hair. My hair isn't even warm after running the straightener through it. Because of this, I waste so much time! If you have thin or short hair, it might work, but I would still suggest trying a different product.

I have about 6 different irons and I really like this one. It's really easy to handle too. I have very frizzy, wavy hair and by passing it slowly through the shaft of hair, you can get your hair board straight. I also use a heat spray and that makes it even easier. The thermal protection of the spray along with the ceramic plates, gets your hair silky smooth. a very good buy for the money! Heats really fast too! Revlon really does make decent hair products.

This WOULD be a great straightening iron if the on/off button was in a different spot. It is right where you have to squeeze it closed. no matter how many different ways I try to grip it I accidently turn it off. There is even a lock to keep the power on but no matter what I do it turns off during use so I have to constantly have to turn it back on if I want to straighten all of my hair not just a piece or two.

This really is the best straightener I've ever used (so much so that I bought a second one to keep just case something happens to the first). This item is so great I bought one for myself and one for my friend as a birthday present. The iron has multiple tempatures and even at the highest heat doesn't burn your hair. I have curly hair and this is the only iron that gives me a straight, shiny, sleek finish. I would highly recommend this product.

I have bought in the past many hair straightening irons for my thick coarse hair. My hairdresser recommended that I buy the ceramic hair iron she uses. She has had it more than 10 years and uses it daily for her clients. She is very pleased with the performance and quality. I decided to purchase it and have been using it for 3 moths and really love how it works on my hair and that it is hot enough to do the job. I you plan on buying this item ask your hairdressed to show you how to use it properly and how high to set the temperature. I would buy this products again in the future if I needed to do so. Overall a 5 star rating/

Flat Iron

I have only used inexpensive flat irons before and they didn't work. This one is fantastic. I have very thick hair and it works beautifully. It's easy to use and does it's job without frying your hair. I even recommended it to my hair stylist. I was at a loss as to which flat iron to buy, and I certainly made the right decision. I love it.

Dont do it

My mom was sold this straightner from her hair stylist and they said that it worked really good, just as good as the chi's. Since she didn't use it all that much she gave it to me after my HAI broke (which staightened my hair pretty well, i miss it). But no. No it isn't the same as a chi at all. Or hai. I have wavy, curly hair and after i use it i have still have puffy, wavy hair ten minutes later because my hair is so thick and it wont staighten it fast enough. Save your dollars for another staightener. Preferbly the chi. But dont buy the chi from amazon aparently since it doesn't come with a warranty.

I never did my hair before I bought this straightener. I was roped in at the mall and have never regretted it. Before I had this I would hardly even brush my hair, but now i look forward to straightening it. It's so fast and easy to use.
