CHI Straightener Tips: Giving Your Hair the Royal Treatment in 6 Steps

Most people say that your hair is your crowning glory.  More likely, however, it is your ticket to having royal looks. Even though you will not use expensive and luxurious bottles of shampoo and conditioner, hair accessories, brushes or combs, and hair treatments, you can still look as dashing as a prince or as debonair as a princess.   You do not have to spend much of your money either. One of the ways, and one that seems popular these times, of making your hair look royal is through ironing your hair using the Cationic Hydration Interlink (CHI) iron or what is commonly known as the CHI straightener.  Curly or straight-haired people can use it.  Both men and women can use it.

Giving your precious hair the royal treatment with a CHI straightener is simple.  You will only need a heat protector (preferably a spray), a hairbrush or comb, a flexible hold hairspray, the CHI iron or straightener, and hairpins or hair clips. Prepare the said materials before starting the ironing.

Once your materials are all ready, you're set to go.  Follow these six easy steps:

1. Using your heat protector spray, apply a medium amount throughout your completely dry hair especially to the ends. Use a brush or comb to evenly distribute the heat protector throughout your hair.

2. With the help of your hairpins or hair clip, separate the top half of your hair from the bottom. Make sure it is properly separated so that it would not distract you.

3. Using 2-inch sections, clamp the iron down at the base as near to your head. With your selected hair, slide the iron in an upward motion. What will come out is a hair with more body and shape.  Just continue the procedure until you have completed the bottom half of your hair.

4. Over the finished product, spray or apply a little amount of heat protector. Do not spray too much, or else you might dampen your hair too much.

5. Release the top part of your hair and perform the same procedure until you are done. After which, spray or apply again a little amount of heat protector to the finished product.

6. Some strands of hair may fly away after ironing. For that, just use the flexible-hold or medium-hold hair spray. Once your hair is cooled, you may now start styling it the way you want to.
