FOR THICK HAIR

I read multiple reviews regarding the 1 inch and 2 inch CHI flat irons and was so nervous to invest in the two inch bc people didn't seem to like it better than the 1 inch and I read a lot of complaints that it is harder to use. I love the one inch but my hair is very thick and somewhat coarse and it takes me some time to flatten it all with the 1 inch. (Also I am impatient so tend to tend to take large chunks of hair rather than doing multiple small areas.) I LOVE THE 2 INCH CHI. Have had it about 3 months. It works so much better on my thick, coarse hair, flattening it quicker, and letting me take bigger chunks at a time while still doing a great job. It is better than the 1 inch. I think the reason some women haven't liked it is because I don't think the length of the hair really matters, I think it is thicker textured hair which does better with the two inch. I absolutely don't think it is awkward or hard to use. I am so glad I bought the two inch and will probably never go back to the one inch. This is the greatest hair straightener ever. (If you have thick hair also I would highly recommend the CHI blow dryer- I went all CHI and am saving probably like an hour a week in hair drying time!) Well worth the money- I wish I had invested in the CHI flat iron much sooner than I did.

I haven't had any problems, I love this product and it heats up very fast. But I also treat my iron very well and protect it like the $100 dollar investment it is. The ceramic coating hasn't peeled off, nor has the red velvet that protects your fingers. I am white and have shoulder length hair that is super thick, wavy & frizzy... but you can't tell after I use this product. I can get my hair done in about 15 or 20 minutes tops; unless I'm running behind, it only takes 5-10 for a semi-acceptable hair job. And it lasts all day! Compared to the cheaper strait irons (that are sold at places like Walmart for about $20-30) which took over an hour for me to get all the waves and frizz under control (and was half frizzy again by noon).The only warning I would give is to start at the low to medium heat settings and work your way up. When I say hot, I mean this puppy gets HOT! I think most people could easily burn their fingers or ears by touching their actual hair just after it has moved out of the iron on heat settings 8, 9 or 10. I also would suspect some of my black friends (chemically treated hair or not) could easily singe their hair off on the highest settings.Also, there is no automatic shut off!!! SO I always check twice that I unplugged it before leaving the house. I don't want to come home to a melted counter top or the house on fire!

I'm not a huge chi fan. I find that the chis work really well, especially when first using them. However, this product really dried out my hair over time, making it brittle. So, it works, but does cause long term damage.

A FAKE!!!!

I purchased these irons and got a notice from Amazon that the actual Farouk company made them aware that the seller was not selling an authentic product. Kudos to Amazon.com for not only notifying me, but refunding ALL of my money. They work ok, but definitely are not a Chi product. However, I got to keep them and they are better than my normal 15.00 flat irons ;-)

USED!

I ordered 2 Chi straighteners from this website, and they originally only sent one. I had to email them again to have the second one sent. Although the product was listed as "new," it is obvious that both straighteners were previously used. (They didn't even come in a full Chi box). The straighteners work just fine, but don't be fooled-these are not brand new.

Flimsy power cord

Flat iron worked fine until it was out of warranty period and developed internal break in power cord. Farouk refuses to send replacement cord at any cost so my wife now has a worthless $100 flat iron. Power cord, which should last indefinitely, is very poorly designed.

It is light-weight, it heats up quickly and I love that I can set the temperature. It is attractive in appearance and the red velvety fabric gives it a soft touch. So far I've used it daily and have no complaints about this product.Ordering was simple and easy but I was dissappointed in having to pay shipping....after all I was ordering from Amazon.

I am disappointed with this product. I thought all Chi products were quality made but apparently not. I have only used this flat iron half a dozen times and every time I straighten a section of hair the iron looses about 40 degrees of heat. So I have to wait until it heats up again to do the next section. Obvious this is very annoying especially when I am in a hurry. I have had better luck with off brand $30 flat irons. I am very dissappointed considering the amount of money I spent.

I purchased this flat iron this week and received it yesterday. I have to say that I was a little nervous about spending this much money on a hair tool. Oh my goodness! It is AWESOME! It is so easy to use and made my hair smooth and shiny. I color my hair and have experienced some damage as a result. The last thing I needed was more damage from heat. No worries about that with this iron. I look forward to using this flat iron on a daily basis. If you are looking for a good flat iron but are worried about shelling out the money, buy this one. It is well worth it!

I love this flat iron. I used to have Revlon one from target that was about $20. It usually took awhile to heat up and i would always have to re-straighten my hair throughout the day because all the humidity outside would make it frizz up again. I tried my friend's CROC straightener and it was THE BEST! Not only did it straighten my hair and heat up VERY quickly (i usually have to go over the same chunk of hair about 2-3x's), my hair was also STATIC FREE!!! Im in love with this flat iron and sooo happy i purchased it.

This was my January splurge, sorta. it's going to end up saving me lots of money because I used to spend about $50 to get my hair straightened the way the Croc2 does it! The product is really "modern" - with a digital readout of the temperature. And it does as it says. Wouldn't use it every day because of the super hot plates but that's probably why it's so effective. It also allows you to lower the temperature from 450 if you don't want it so hot. The Croc rocks!

This flat iron is intended to be used on damp hair (NOT dripping wet), and you can dry your hair and straighten it, simultaneously. It's a big time saver! It works beautifully, and is easy to use. Lightweight, and you don't have to press hard to close the plates.It heats up very fast (within 30 seconds) and the heat temp display is big, and easy to read. You can adjust the heat easily.You do have to keep it away from your scalp, because the edges get hot. If you use it on damp hair your hair makes a sizzling sound as the water is turned to steam - that can be a bit disconcerting, but your hair is not burning if you chose the correct temperature.Do not start with the maximum temperature - it's very hot and might be too hot for your hair. I used it at 380 f. and got great results with my thick, kinky/wavy hair. One pass per lock of hair, and I was finished in less than ten minutes.You can use it on dry hair too. I love the versatility. I bought the one inch size because my hair is fairly short. If you have lots of long hair to straighten you might prefer the wider one.

I bought this flat iron because my hair stylist uses it on my thick, wavy hair....its awesome! no need to even blow dry your hair,..let it air dry....then straighten, and wow, the results are amazing! First of all I'm impressed with the shipping and speed of the seller. With that being said, the MIni Croc comes in a mesh-plastic zip up pouch. Inside of that is a leather heat-resistant case that has a magnetic clasp that keeps it closed. The iron itself heats up very quickly. I'm a hairstylist and this iron works well on all hair types. There is no temp setting for the mini only the full size versions. I was using a GHD mini and full size and have sold them to upgrade to the Croc mini and full size.

This is my second CHI turbo flatiron. After a few years, my first died. **sniff, sniff** I was happy with my first minus the fact it did not have an auto shut-off.The new CHI turbo now has the auto shut off which is a big plus! (yet you also have to make sure to turn it on, not just plug it in. even so, it's a minor first step and the auto-off outweighs it)The other feature I like with it is the digital temp reading.Highly recommended!

Catches hair

I had a 1" chi turbo before getting this digital one, and I want my old iron back. This iron is almost unusable because it snags my hair with every pass and breaks strands- painful when they're plucked from your scalp, too. It also doesn't seem to get as consistently hot- I constantly have to turn the temperature up again. This will be my last chi.

I read a lot of reviews before purchasing this hair straightener, then finally decided that i should buy it! It took forever to recieve it because i used the free supersaver shipping, which i will never do again! But the product itself was pretty good, if you dont use a heat protector or the oil product that chi sells then it doesnt straighten as well. But if used with the product and straightened in small sections then it works beautifully! and will stay straight for a few days! Also the heat does lower as you straighten hair. But if you turn the heat higher then it doesnt matter. I havent figured out how to use it to curl hair but I am having a lot of fun with it so far. All my friends like to come over to use it too because it is better than all of their hair straighteners! Over all it is better than any straightener that i have ever bought!

I love my Croc2. I am a full Mexican so i have that fine wavy/curly hair, this straightens it like no other. I have tried the Chi and have not liked them. I believe the Titanium plate are way better. This leaves my hair soft. Heats up quickly. It does get very hot, depending on how hot you have it so be careful when touching it! Highly recommend for the wavy curly hair gals!

Heats up quickly. Flattens my hair better and quicker than my old ceramic flat iron. Learned it can display and Fahrenheit or Celsius because it would only display up to 230. But I knew the iron was getting hotter than that. If you hold the right button down and then hit the ON button, it will display a C or an F so you can decide how you want the degrees displayed.

My wife has a drawer full of flat irons and what not's. She says they are good but take too much time to do their job. I bought her this CROC2 that was recomended by a friend, she is in LOVE with it. The Titanium plates do their job faster than any of the $15-45 dollar ones she has. The Digital setting help adjust to you exact preferred temperature.Based on her reaction BUY this product.
