How Teens Use Hair Extensions For Creative Looks

Scene hair is a fun and creative way for teens to display individuality and style. Scene hair, which is also called "emo hair" by some, became quite popular in 2006 when a lot of "emo" music bands were established. Many anime cartoon characters also seem to influence many of the styles and colors for scene hair. Anime seems to be closely related to the fashion in which the hair is cute into layers. Sometimes just having the opposite color in extensions from that of your natural hair color is, is enough to make the piece stand out. For example a teen with blond hair might use a few black hair extension pieces to lie underneath the natural blond hair color so that they will draw attention. It is also common for dark haired teens to wear light blond pieces to stand out as well.

Although scene hair is typically straight, occasionally you will see some curly haired extensions being used or sometimes the natural hair will also be curled or a mixture of both curly and straight.

The extensions are never permanent fixtures, meaning they are not infused into the hair but rather they are clipped in. Many teens will make their own extensions and color them as well to save on costs.
