Help me figure out a new hair color?

Fall Colors -Hair Color for the Seasons

It is interesting to put "hair" and "colors" together, especially when one includes the seasons.   It used to be women (and some fashion forward men) had their "colors" done so they could look their best.  What happened was a persons "colors" or skin and eye tones were put into categories by how they matched up with seasonal colors. There were four categories – one for each season. Winter was the purest with pure white, black and clear colors, with no undertones.  These people had clear skin tones and the corresponding color palette complimented and augmented their whole look.  Spring and Summer work the same way, Summer being more beige and Spring more blue based. Fall is more golden, and in many ways much more powerful a color palette. It has strong oranges and crimsons that can be overpowering. It is best to tread lightly when working with them.

Now bring this to hair.  Hair should not be considered an afterthought when it comes to color or ones overall look.  Color has changed over the years, and the outlook of using color needs to change as well.

In the past color clients have been keeping with one color year round, and mainly to keep their natural color as they age and to cover the inevitable grey. Or "silver lining.  Color has taken a modern twist in hair care, becoming much less harsh and manufacturers have added conditioners to their developers that condition as it colors.  Color adds body and shine to lackluster hair and with simple maintenance can last up to eight weeks.

Color can be as easy as adding highlights to single color hair to add sparkle  or as intricate as a multi colored, multi dimensional effect. It all depends on how dependent one wants to be on their hair.

Fall evokes golden tones, flashes of reds coppers and bronzes. Any and all can be incorporated into one's hair color to compliment the rich fashion tones.  It is best to seek a consultation with a color stylist to know what tones are best for each skin tone.

Whether it is a whole new look or just a new twist on a tried and true style, color can add whole new look for the season.
