Does hair dye cause cancer?

Never mind that permanent hair dye with a chemical composition of high voltage and can be dried hair. There are many more questions about what hair dyes can also cause damage or destruction of hair follicles.

A large percentage of men and American women use permanent hair dye of some sort. Since the current population of Baby Boomers are aging, the number of people dying or hair color in the U.S. has been increasing steadily. The U.S. Census Bureau estimated that more than 22 million single women who dye their hair for 2003.

The causes of most cancers are unknown. However, certain risk factors, are known as snuff or exposure to toxins in the work, to be associated with certain types of cancer. In all cases of cancer are multiple factors involved. Genes and your health in general, play a role to determine whether exposure to known carcinogens (cancer causing substances) will result in your cancer. The research suggests alink between hair dye and bladder cancer has been contradicted by more recent research and current thinking is that there is no such link.

Research most recent hair dying problem took place some months ago and published in the American Journal of Epidemiology May 26, 2006. This was carried out at the Institute Catalan of Oncology in Barcelona on data collected from six European countries. The analysis showed that the risk of non - Hodgkin's lymphoma increased with 19% in individuals who use hair color from time to time, while those who get their hair dyed regularly - as monthly - the risk of cancer increased 26%.

Strong evidence that the use of hair dye increases the risk of cancer. Specifically, the research team found that, worldwide, the use of hair coloring products have no apparent effect on breast and bladder cancers, but may slightly increase the risk of leukemia and multiple myeloma. But they said that the causal effect was too weak to be a major concern.

Some research has indicated that using hair dye may lead to an increased risk of bladder cancer, while other research has suggested not. Some of the research has examined the different types of dyes and others are not. Some studies have probably been too small to detect any small increase in risk. The Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA) in May 2005 there was a large meta-analysis published that looked at all the research on hair dyes can cause cancer. A meta-analysis is an investigation which brings together all previous study results. This has determined that it is unlikely that any link between use of hair dyes and bladder cancer.

An analysis of the many studies examining a possible link between hair dye use and cancer did not support a cause and effect. Although it remains unlikely, there could still be a small risk associated with certain types of cancer. Further studies focusing on hairdressers, who are routinely exposed to chemicals in hair dyes, may shed more light on a possible connection to cancer.

Hair dye is unlikely to is a significant risk factor for cancer, if at all. Family history, diet, smoking, and exercise have more to do with cancer risk that if you choose or not to a brunette and a blonde.
