WELL ALL THE BEST TO THE LADIES THAT HAD SUCCESS WITH THE MIZANI RELAXER'S CAUSE IT DID NOT WORK FOR ME AT ALL AND BEFORE ANYONE SAY ANYTHING I HAD IT PUT IN BY A PROFESSIONAL BEAUTICIAN THAT HAD 12 YEARS EXPERIENCE MY HAIR WENT DULL AFTER FEW DAYS AND DRY AS A HAY STACK AND STARTED CHIPPING OFF SO BAD, I HAD TO CUT ABOUT 4 INCHES OFF AND START AGAIN I ALSO WENT TO A OLDER BEAUTICIAN TO SEE HAD THE FIRST ONE DONE SOMETHING WRONG BUT SHE SAID IT JUST DID NOT WORK FOR ME AT ALL SO I WONT BE BUYING THE MIZANI RELAXERS AGAIN SO GOOD LUCK TO THOSE THAT GOT GOOD RESULTS.

I have been relaxing my hair since the beginning of time it seems! LOL! I am Biracial (Half Hispanic/Half Black) and my hair has two textures to it. The Mizani Butter Blen has worked the best for me. I am so happy that I don't have to mix potions, gag from the smell and don't have to worry about burns to my scalp. This product is very good and I highly reccommend it. I had my hair Relaxed with the Mizani Butter Blen last night and came in to work to a sea of compliments on how shinny and healthy my hair looks today. An Excellent Line of Products

I decided a couple of months ago to give my mane the full Mizani treatment, and boy was it worth it. I've had some pretty decent relaxers put in, but this has far been the best, it left my hair with a really silky, shiny texture, there was no tingling or "burning" near my scalp and it lasted over a month, which is saying a lot for what my hair normally does. Loves it, I don't use anything else now.

Shampoo bad smell

Well, I definetly noticed a strong unpleasant smell also when using the shampoo and decided to take another look at the ingredients. I was so surpised to find out that they have put sodium hydroxide in their shampoo especially since it is an eye irritant and Ive ran out of baby shampoo at one time and used it on my baby. As Im sure everyone knows sodium hydroxide is a basic ingredient of a relaxer. Mizani is a no-lye relaxer which is supposed to be less damaging to the hair but yet they use it in their shampoo. It is quite a strong relaxer eventhough that "just relaxed" effect doesnt lasts as long as other relaxers (I guess because its no-lye). It also can make the ends somewhat rough but you should avoid those anyway or put some protection on them before relaxing. However, to be fair the relaxer was the best results Ive seen-ever! It makes the hair really shiny and soft. Advice: protect your ends before relaxing. Dont use the butter blend shampoo and conditioner with the relaxer if you have a sensitive scalp, damaged/weak hair or just dont like the smell of relaxer everytime you shampoo.

Breakage from the Shampoo and Conditioner

I have experienced a lot of breakage with this product but I don't think it is the relaxer itself. I think the Butter Blends shampoo and conditioner have way too much PROTEIN in them and that makes the hair brittle. In fact, during my first use, the shower smelled of dead meat... it was the smell of the shampoo! My hair has been falling by the handfulever since. Needless to say, I'm looking for a new relaxer.

Great for coarse hair and sensitive scalp

I tried this relaxer system after unsatisfactory results from Lineage. My hair was straight, not bone straight, it didn't burn, it didn't have an overwhelming smell like most relaxers. My hair is still straight almost 2 months later. I definitely will be buying another kit. I still have partial left from the first kit even though it looks like only one application in the container.

Phytospecific Index 1 is the only relaxer on the market that does not damage my extra fine hair. It leaves it straight but with plenty of body. And the bonus is, I only have to straighten my hair after about 10 weeks which saves me money. Speaking of saving money, you can get two straigtenings in one box! I also have found that the directions are easy to understand and follow. An excellent product when you cant afford to go into a Phyto Salon.

I'm an African American, whose hair was natural for 2years. However, I decided to straighten with phyto #2 because I did not want to use lye based products. I'm so happy I did, my hair is beautiful and I'm constantly getting compliments on my hair. I'm also in love with the Moisturizing Styling Balm cream with Quinoa Oil. I use it with heat, and it does not weigh my hair. In fact it provides awesome moisture and shine. My hair was so straight, but the next phyto relaxer I will use #1, because my hair is fine but with a lot of body.

Although "frugal" has GOT to be my middle name, I am a personal believer in splurging on products that better our state of being in a truly healthful way. After years of relaxing my hair with the standard stuff, going natural and then relaxed once again--I feel as though I have finally come close to reaching hair Nirvana! Now, I am going to rant a bit because I think almost every single person reading these reviews has felt as though s/he has allowed their hair to be compromised at one time or another or maybe even continuously due to a lack of a better option (or simply the knowledge of a better option). I'm one of those women who has entrusted my tresses to family members, friends, and so-called "professionals" that had little stake in the health of my hair. Like most of you, I have been burned, disregarded and frustrated, until now! I am so totally amazed by this product (line) and am definitely a (life-long, perhaps) convert. After using this relaxing system, my hair is beautiful, soft to the touch and truly MANAGEABLE! Gone are the days of aching, scabbed over scalp and uncontrolled breakage and shedding. If you have any experience treating your own hair, I feel comfortable in saying go for it--order this kit and see a marked difference in the condition of your scalp and hair. Excellent for your hair if you're a swimmer

I have a 9 year old daughter with thick, coarse hair. She is on a swim team that has her practicing 5 times a week for 1 1/2 hours each day. In the begining her hair began turning a dirty blond. This caused my daughter distress. We were using other boxed relaxers ie.. Dr. Miracle. The box relaxers were too strong, burned her easily, and made her hair to straightened. Another swim mom told me about Phyto, and warned me about the cost. The cost was steep, but well worth it. I can't take my daughter to a salon due to the fact she spends a lot of time in the pool, so I care for her hair myself. I love Phyto. It straigtens her hair as though I pressed it with the comb. It allows her hair to be user friendly. I recommend this product to many people, those of whom tend to disregard my recommendation once I tell them the price. It's worth it! Breakage from the Shampoo and Conditioner

Finally I get one, just one product to relax my curly and tropical hair, OMG! I had use, every product line (Complete, I mind, shampoo, serum, leave in and mask) in the market, P.M, Sebastian, Rusk, Matrix, neutrogena, the cheaper, the expensive, and the last week I receive the phyto relaxing balm, I purchased only the balm, because the prices, and I was so skeptical about the results. I do my hair my self, it is not a easy work, like any Latin American, we prefer, sleek hair, not frizz and very straight, applying one product FINALLY I get the result, than for years I was looking for.I want to say, I relax chemically every 2 months, so you can imagine how curl it is. For sure I recommend this product, and I'm going to buy more to keep in storage.Try and confirm.

What a letdown

My hair is more wavy than curly and during the summer it is frizzy as well. This product made my hair feel soft and improved the frizziness, but as far as straightening hair.....NO. After blow drying it looked the same. I still needed to use a flat iron throughout my entire head, not just for touchups. I tried letting it air dry, no change. It's too expensive for a product that does what many cheaper salon products do.

I just tried Mizani for the 1st time and I love how straight my hair got. I used to use Olive Oil Mild Relaxer until I received really bad scalp burns and it broke my edges off. Mizani has a nice smell. Mizani didn't burn my scalp. I will definitely use the product again.

Although this review will appear for the Mizani BB relaxer, my review is based on the entire system. I LOVE it!!! I have been using this brand for about a year at my salon. This past Nov is the first time I did not get it applied at the Salon. My friend did it for me instead (she's not a professional but she can def do a relaxer touch up with ease). Let me just say I LOVED the results she gave me over what I was getting at the salon, especially b/c nothing was rushed. We followed all the directions and left the products on for the specified times (perhaps a few mins over) as opposed to the salon just washing the stuff right out. My hair has never felt so buttery, silky and soft after a perm. Seriously, never. I definitely recommend to anyone who wants to use this stuff and I love the fact that I do not have a bone straight look when my hair is wet.

Makes my hair look much thicker than usual

I've been using the medium strength for years and am glad that I finally made the switch to mild. My hair looks much thicker and has been breaking less so far. After seeing the claims for the Olive Oil Relaxer on Tyra Banks Show, I purchased it. Used it according to the directions, but at the end or the process, when combing with the oil conditioner; hunks of my hair came out in the comb. This happened about 4 times. My hair is now shorter than before. This Relaxer seemed to be worse for me than others I have used, even though it had good conditioners.

On African American hair it is the best on the market. Does not leave the hair dry. Gives smooth bounce and somehow the hair feels healthier. I have tried every brand and will stick with this one. On my daughter's mixed-race mixed textured hair it took the dry curls to a beautiful 'S' wave. This was a wonderful surprise because she was hoping it would not be bone straight, and it turned out perfect for her. It relaxed it enough so that it is manageable but does not look as if it has been straightened.

This relaxer is so incredible...I can't even find the words to say enough good things about it. I am mixed raced [irish, african american, cherokee and hawaiian] so my hair grows long but it's curly! I've been relaxing my hair for years and have damaged my hair. like FRIED. I have tried every relaxer in the market. When I found this around two years ago, i FELL IN LOVE. No one commented yet on the scent of the relaxer, which is weird cause that's the FIRST thing I noticed that was different. There virtually ISN'T one. The days of smelling up the house with a STAYING horrid smell is gone! [YAY!] My hair has grown around 7 inches since i switched to this product. I use it twice a year. I'm not a fan of all the products they give you in the box except ONE. It's one of the leave in conditioner things [i THINK it's the one in the big yellow packet] you'll know which one i'm talking about because it smells DELICIOUS. Not overpowering or greasy. I HATE heavy buildup or the feeling of "product" in my hair. It's gross. So that's why I love that packet. It's light and leaves my hair SO SOFT. This relaxer doesn't WRECk my scalp either which is a major plus when trying to GROW your hair long! So the 5-star reviews are ALL correct! the person that left the 3 star statement didn't do it right, because it's AMAZING! Hands down: best relaxer EVER invented!

I use this product every 6 months and OMG!!! I have to admit and be honest, THE PRODUCT IS EXCELLENT! Yes! Your hair will look extremely beautiful and bouncy just like the women's hair on the box's picture, "I know it sounds like crap," but it's true. The product also moisturizes/invigorates your hair strands and if you use the shampoo and conditioner along with the olive oil and hair mayonaise lotion, it prevents breakage and creates stronger, more managable, and soft healthy looking hair. The perm is not thick like a majority of other African American perms are and is mostly water based so you know you are getting a perm where the chemicals are not bad or harsh. It's extremely healthy and you just have to love this product!Ps. The only drawbacks on the lotions (That I recommend women use with the perm) are that they are greasy and you will have to sleep with a good thick satin scarf at night, which will lock in extra moisture.

I have used over the counter kits and have never had the results that I got with Avlon Affirm Relaxer. This is the best and it was simple to use. You have to follow it up with Affirm shampoo, but I will never use any other product to relax my hair.

I really like the relaxer. My hair feels great and the relaxer works fast. I must say that the shipping prices are RI-DIC-U-LOUS!!! though. be sure to get the conditioner when you get this kit... you put it in prior to using the neutralizing shampoo so it is a must have.

Way Over Priced

I don't think I will be ordering these types of products with Amazon again. I was lead to believe this was all one order. Instead I received 3 seperate e-mail confirmations and 3 times Shipping Cost. One shipping cost was higher than the product. I was sent a confirmatio that the orders would ship in 1-2 weeks. After I saw that there were 3 seperate order numbers and the outrageous shipping fees, I tried to cancel the same day and was told ALL 3 items had shipped. Two items were from the Same Seller and they sent them in two different boxes to charge two ridiculous shipping fees. They all could have fit in one box. Again, will not be using this service on Amazon again.

I'm Mulatto (mom's Black, dad's White), and have been relaxing my own hair for almost twenty years now. This is all that I use since I tried it after it was recommended to me by a friend, and all I expect to ever use again.I started out getting my hair relaxed by a stylist (or Mom herself) who used FabuLaxer, which always did a good job, but always burned my sensitive scalp. I tried Optimum, and, prior to switching over to Dr. Miracle's, was a steady and faithful Soft and Beautiful user. And then, a friend of mine told me about this product. She said that this was all that she ever used, that it didn't burn her scalp, and that even when her relaxer started to grow out, her hair didn't revert back to "nappy" condition the way that it had with other chemical relaxers. I find that much of what she'd told me about Dr. Miracle's No Lye Cream Relaxer Kit holds true for me, as well.When it's coming up on time for me to relax my hair, I make a conscious and concerted effort NOT to scratch my scalp for at least a good three to five days before I plan to relax my new growth. I have sensitive skin, so my scalp tends to burn badly even without scratches on it. I've found that this relaxer is mild, and doesn't burn or do anywhere NEAR the damage that I've grown accustomed to when using other cream relaxers. Yes, those sensitive spots on my scalp do still develop burns, but I truly don't believe that there's any way around that.One thing that I've always done to restore my scalp and hair after a relaxer (and, honestly, on a weekly basis), is to give myself a pure, hot olive oil treatment. I pour about half a cup of 100% pure olive oil into a cup, microwave it until just warm (about 2 minutes at 40% power), then use a coffee scoop to pour it over my hair at the hairline, middle of my head, and around the sides. I massage the oil into my scalp and hair, cover my head with a plastic bag, leave it in for 20 to 30 minutes, then shampoo it back out with two shampoo applications (rinse the oil out with warm water, apply shampoo, rinse, shampoo again, rinse, condition, then style. I do that weekly). That process completely restores my hair from chemical damage, and I've been doing it for years. I constantly get compliments on how soft, shiny, and silky my hair is, and I fully attribute it to the olive oil treatments I use. The Dr. Miracle's relaxers are just the icing on the cake.I really do believe that Dr. Miracle's is the best relaxer that you can buy yourself. The smell is pleasant, the damage it does is minimal to nonexistent, and it leaves your hair in better condition than it was before you started using it. I don't ever expect to stop using this product, nor do I expect to switch over to any other brand.

Wow! My older brother and I used this product for the very first time and we were soooo impressed with the results! Really, our hair is so much straighter that we don't even have to use our flat iron. We both have course hair so this product really changed our hairs. It does not smell at all, barely if any. Really there was nothing negative to say about this product. We'll definitely rebuy this product again whenever we decide to redo this all over again. Worth the money!

I first started using this product a few months ago after searching near and far online for reviews. I read all sorts of negative reviews about this product making people's hair fall out, people saying that is smells bad and people complaining about the commercials on tv for the product. Let me tell you, this is the best relaxer I have ever used. I would put it up against Designers Touch, Nairobi or even Motions any day and it will beat them every time. Trust me, I know about the above mentioned products because I have paid hair stylists to use them in my hair for years and usually when 5 weeks is up my hair turns back into a bush. Not to mention, my scalp used to be so dry and itchy using those other products and they always burned my scalp even when I did not scratch. I am an African American female with kinky, nappy, hard to manage (I think type 4c) hair and after I applied this relaxer following the directions exactly, my hair was slick, soft, and silky. My hair looked and felt like Indian hair, honestly. I was surprised since I had read so many negative reviews. My hair did not fall out, the relaxer did not even burn my scalp, and the smell was not that bad. The relaxer smelled like any other relaxer and all the other products have a refreshing smell, similar to Big Red chewing gum, or Winterfresh chewing gum, it is a strong scent but, it does not stink. People high and low complained about the commercials and I see nothing wrong with them because my hair was wild and unmanageable just like the woman in the commercials prior to my trying this product and I did not like my hair nappy. I suppose if you have never had hair so nappy that you can't even comb it like I have had then you would find the commercials offensive. But, this relaxer could not have done a better job; people keep asking me which relaxer I used because my hair looks like Pocahontas's. Dr. Miracle's regular relaxer is great and I had never before seen results like that. I will never go back to any other relaxer.

Wonderful product loved how it made my hair feel...this is the second time using product and I can see great results my hair is growing much more. I would recommend this product to anyone, it is well worth the price tag.

I found my relaxer!

I was a person who always had scalp burns when using any other relaxer....even no lye and even with base applied. This relaxer was cooling to the scalp and my hair was silky and smooth! I love it. Really, really, really worth every penny! Ladies, don't sleep on this one. I used the index 1 because I don't like my hair too straight, just enough to relax so it won't become to flat or limp. (and I have a sensative scalp, so index 1 was enough for me.) Love it!!

My hair didn't get that straight but I wasn't worried about that. I didn't want my hair to fall out after putting in my hair. And it worked out my hair is growing and it is manageable

Didn't work for me

After reading all of the great reviews on amazon about this relaxer, I decided to give it a try on my now thinning and damaged hair. I've been using it since december and i haven't seen anything wonderful about it. first of all, my hair is never completely relaxed. secondly, when i wash my hair a few days after the relaxer, the hair goes right back to it's unrelaxed state. my hair is now dryer and breaking even more. it is not worth $60.

Don't Believe the Hype

After reading tons of reviews I decided to try the Phyto relaxer index I for my thinning hair, I must say I was disappointed. I did not get those fabulous results mentioned in many review and I did have it put in by a professional. I could be wrong, but it seems like my hair is now drier and sheds more than usual. Maybe I was just expecting a miracle after spending $60 just for the product. On a more positive note, I will say that once the relaxer was washed out my hair appeared a little thicker, but for the price of this product I need the pros to outweigh the cons. I think I will revert back to the Olive Oil Relaxer.
