Very quick and effortless

This is my first flat iron, before this I have always gone to the salon, and I love this one! I have long hair (which hangs till the mid-back) and I get done with it in 20 min. It heats up pretty quickly too, and is very convenient to use, especially on long hair! The only thing worth nothing is if you have a short fringe, you may not be able to use this one on it, as the hair strands have to be at least two inches. All in all, a great buy. Leaves my hair shining and straight.

Wow! I am very impressed with this product and the price. I have very thick, curly hair, and it took me 35 minutes to do my entire head! With a traditional (smaller) flat iron, it took me two hours! No thank you.I would not waste $100 + dollars on a brand name if you can get a product like this. I also appreciate the digital adjustment, so you can raise the heat if your hair is more stubborn or lower if your hair is getting fried.

I have owned several straightening irons in my life. I have owned "designer" brands and store brands such as conair. This iron was recommended to me by my sister who also has very coarse thick hair like myself. I have never had straight, volumized, frizz free hair like this without going to a salon and having a professional blow out. Even then I loose volume at the roots which I want.If you are having ANY doubts about this iron GET IT!! You will not regret it. Sooooooooooooo happy with it and the quality of materials is high so this iron will last. Plus the pink tourmaline makes it cute:)There is a digital face plate wich shows you what temp it is at or when it is heating up. The temp variations is a real plus so everyone from fine hair to thick hair like myself can use it.Happy straightening!!!

I have not bought this product yet but it did the job. I went to the salon today, and since I hate sitting under the dryer, my stylist blow drys, flat iron and bumps the ends of my hair for shape. She used this instead of the regular flat irons and she didn't have to use the curling iron and it turned out great! My only con is the fact that it gets so hot and has the potential to inflict heat induced discomfort. Other than that, I was happy with the results enough to contemplate purchasing my own.

This product really does straighten the hair. I received it in record time and it performs as advertised. I have very short curly hair and my bangs tend to curl up into little sausages after one day. This in styler is a wonderful product..better then any straightener iron. It also leaves the hair shiny and smooth.

My friend brought a Instyler. I have used a Chi for 10 years and swear on it, but thought I would try to find out what all the hype was about. It fried my hair and didn't make my hair straight at all. It was all frizzy. I know how to use tools and found this one hard to handle and it felt cheap. My friend hated it and thought it was her, but after using it told her it was the appliance not the user. Used my Chi to straighten her hair and she went out the same day and bought one and is taking her Instyler back to the store where it came from. Save your money and buy a good quality flat iron instead.

It's okay, but not worth $100

I have only used my instyler a couple of times, and am returning it tomarrow. I am glad I bought it at walmart so it will be no hassle to return it at all. It's a good enough product. It does straighten my hair well (long, thick hair with natural wave). I was impressed at how fast I got my hair done, but really it isn't $100 impressive. I'd say it's $50 impressive, and if they ever go down to that price or lower I'll buy another. So if you've got a hundred bucks to blow then it is does a fine job, but if you are like me and on a super tight budget you will more than likely feel guilty for spending that much money on something that doesn't WOW you like expected (my $30 straight iron delivers the same results). My advice if you want to check it out is to buy one at walmart or walgreens, no shipping costs, and the easier to return if you do not want to keep it. Another reason I'm returning it is because I've read a whole bunch of reviews saying that they break easy, that is disturbing for me to see. If you pay that much for something it should last much longer than a few months. I figure I'll return it now, because if 3 months from now it breaks on me and I can't return it, I'll feel so ripped off.

Good Straightener

I bought this flat iron from Fred's for around twenty bucks. It came with a little comb that you insert on the side of the plate, which I LOOOOVED. Not sure if this one comes with a comb or not. Either way, its a great straightener for the price. It glides smoothly over your hair and gets it very straight. I think it works as well as any other straightener. I don't know why anyone would complain. It's very cheap and does a GREAT job. As of now I'm using the Remington Wet-to-Straight flat iron. It's also a great straightener for a cheap price.

This straightener will get the job done, but I would not purchase another one.I have used a Sedu for about 3 years until it finally kicked the bucket. I was low on cash so I thought I'd try something not as expensive, especially considering the great reviews. This thing is large, bulky, and pulls my hair if I'm not very careful. The end result leaves my hair looking a bit like straw, whereas my older expensive straightener always left my hair looking (and feeling) silky.Save for something better, it's worth the extra money.

I researched several flat irons until I came across this one. For the price and the good reviews I thought I would give it a try. I am very happy with it. The previous review described everything to a T. I have very thick, coarse hair and that makes it hard for me to straighten it. I love how smoothly this runs over the hair and how easy it is to use. My boss even complimented me the next day on how good my hair looked and it takes a lot to get a compliment out of him! This is a great buy for the price too. Maybe it'll get me a raise!

Amazing Straightener!

I got this straightener yesterday, looking for a Remington because it's the only kind that has worked for me, I got my first Remington a year ago after trying 6 different straighteners that year, and to this day it still works great but i wanted to try this one out because of the vitamin E &amp;amp; Avocado oil infused plates. When I got home I tried it out and fell in love with it immediately I love the way it glides through your hair and leaves your hair impeccably straight and last through the night, I still haven't tried curling it but I am confident it won't be a problem. [: BTW: I have thin, wavy shoulder length hair.

Dries out my hair

I have very fine, thin, slightly wavy hair. The first few times I used this iron, I liked it. I read several flat iron reviews before purchasing a new flat iron and decided to go with this one. The reviews seemed to be true...it made my hair silky. However, after the first handful of uses, it has made my hair very dry and increases my split ends and breakage drastically. I always use a product to protect my hair from heat tools before using this or other irons, but it doesn't seem to help much with this iron. Even though it does straighten my hair well, it makes my hair feel like straw (not attractive looking either!)I was trying to save money by going with this one, but I'm disappointed. My next flat iron will be a Chi.

Stopped working after 2 months.

I bought this item at the end of January, and it was great while it worked. I have very fine hair, so I always kept it on the lowest heat setting. Unfortunately, as of about two weeks ago it stopped working! Very disappointed.

I've had this iron for about 3 weeks now and have really put it to the test. The first week I had it, we were on vacation and the weather was in the 90s and extremely humid. Not only did the iron straighten my hair, but it also helped prevent the "frizzies" that I normally would have had. Because it was so hot, I kept my hair in a pony tail for most of the week, but the tail was silky and shiny and 'curved' at the ends for days. Now that I'm back in my air conditioned office, I don't have to worry about the "frizzies" but my hair is still smooth and bends at just the right spot.So glad I found this; it's perfect for my coarse hair.

This straightener works wonders on thick hair with the higher settings and it is easy to hold and work with. The wet/dry setting also is perfect but be careful not to use it on a high setting or all your hair will be is frizz. It withstands alot and lasts for a bit longer than its two year warrenty. This is my second one (the same type) because my last one lasted for three years but alas the warrenty is again only two years which is actually pretty reasonable. I recommend this over any straightener ever.

I was a little doubtful with this straightener. It's no CHI or Babyliss, but Hey, It's Cheap! I gave it a shot, and it made my hair silky and straight. I love it! People complimented me and said my hair looked better than before. It's made of plastic, so it'll break fast, but i wouldn't mind buying another one. Although this product doesn't provide SALON results, it straightens FAST, heats up fast, and do fun flips for layers and such, and makes your hair silky and less damaged. hat are you waiting for? I have wavy, thick hair and this flat iron works magic. I would recommend it to anyone!! You would never be able to tell that my hair wasn't naturally straight. It also curls hair very well! I love it way more than a chi. Sometimes for me chi's fry my hair and this doesn't do that at all!!!!

I read the reviews and found that after using this product for a few weeks, it out performs any other product out there that I've ever used. It heats up fast, improves the look and feel of my hair texture and really holds up to most any weather. It's been worth every penny of the cost. It ships pretty fast. This ceramic styler is amazing, to say the least! I don't have to use too much product to keep my hair from becoming split frizzy and weak! I've had the same exact Chi flat iron since December 2007. I bought it as a recommendation from the salon I used to visit a few years ago. I've since dropped it quite a few times, and the black box where you plug the flat iron in is even chipped after I pulled out out of the wall wayyyy too hard on more than one occasion. I'm proud to say my flat iron is still going strong. It straightens both my natural hair and extensions without any problems, and it leaves them both shiny. If it broke today, I'd go out and get another one, except this time I'd get the pink one!

The Fine Print

I purchased this product for a friend, and got to deal with a complicated return. The iron apparently works well, while it works - in this case, 2 months. CHI/Farouk's warranty policy is simply unconscionable. I read a review before buying that said buyer beware, CHI will screw you on the warranty and will honor it if you purchase the product from an online retailer. This is sadly true. They will do exactly that.My best advice is to avoid this unscrupulous company completely. There are excellent products out there. Like Hot Tools and Babyliss. Apparently CHI products aren't altogether reliable after all, or there wouldn't be so many people with defective products and return issues. But according to CHI/Farouk, my product may well have been a "replica", and that's why it failed. My take? This popular brand is having major manufacturing issues and is willing to compromise on quality. If you pay $125-150 retail price, they will make good on their warranty (minus a potentially not-so-nominal $35 charge and your time and energy). If you want to get in at a lower price point, they will not stand behind their product. If no one stands behind it, it's not a product my friends/family need to own either. Even if they end up yielding to the consumer and improving their warranty, this is a company to avoid. Caveat emptor.

MAGIC!!!

This mini pro ceramic is better than my Chi flat iron. My base hair color is grey and of course salon dyed dark blonde, light brown with highlights. Lately it was getting to be impossible to blow dry and manage my soft wavy hair. I cut it short and the problem got worse. All this until yesterday....Magic, I purchased the conair mini and my bangs and layered hair are sleek, shiney, straight, but mostly ironed just right without burning my processed hair. I am going to buy one or two more and keep them at home, office, and everywhere. LOVE IT!!! 5 BIG STARS

Good for traveling, really mini

I bought this to use at the gym in the mornings and did not want to haul my 2" flat iron in my bag. It heats up pretty fast but it does not have temperature control, and it is truly mini, which is wonderful for traveling or carrying in a bag. However, I would not recommend this for day to day use for women who have a lot of hair or long hair, because it is too small. The size of the iron is about slightly thicker than an electric toothbrush, but it fits fine with the cable in the pouch, which is the size of a pencils pouch.

The product is as it is decsribed. It is an efficient miniature hair tool and works well. Be careful when manipulating the iron to style your hair because the material around the plates gets very hot.

I have bought this iron on a whim, when it was available at the local grocery store in the 'sale bin'... originally I had no other use or purpose for it, other than maybe taking it on some trips, so I do not have to pack my lot bigger (1") flat iron.Turns out it became my regularly and exclusively used hair straightener. I still do not understand why it works so much better than all the other irons I have used. I have owned Revlon and Vidal Sassoon before and even went and bought another (bigger) Conair, thinking maybe each model of Conair brand is better... I should point out I never used Farouk CHI, so I cannot vouch for that one, however none of the other flat irons I have used has done as great job as this small Conair unit does in creating the natural look, while being easy, fast and simple to use. I have quite a short hair, and get it usually done under five minutes. The final look is natural, sleek, healthy and somewhat shiny looking and it lasts several days (I wash my hair about twice a week at the most).I had to return the bigger (1 inch) Conair, and quit using my Revlon iron, as both of them took A LOT more time to go through my hair, and each time the end result just look somewhat off... the straightened hair never looked quite right, it did not look smooth enough and did not last very long.Once again, I cannot quite explain exactly HOW or WHY does this iron do so much better job, that other irons - it just does. Currently priced at $15 - it's an investment gloriously worth making and I will be buying another one as a back up!

This straightener makes my hair really straight and smooth. It doesn't give much of hair burning sensation either. This is one of the nicest hair irons I've ever tried.

Tames frizzies all day long even in the wet sponge that is Florida

I just bought this iron last week and it is absolutely amazing. I have mostly straight hair but it tends to get VERY frizzy especially in the summertime in Florida where I live. It is comparable to a CHI with how straight and shiny my hair will stay for days! However, unlike the CHI this flat iron just glides over your hair. It has never once snagged a hair out and my hair actually looks healthier! The auto shut-off is very convenient as well because I tend to forget about turning things off so this is a safety feature that I can really appreciate AND it has a 4 year warranty! Highly recommended!

One side stopped heating after 6 months

I was extremely happy with this straightener until I noticed that it wasn't working as well as it normally does. One side of the iron no longer heats up. Becasue this happened 5 months after I purchased the iron, I could no longer return it via Amazon. However, I contacted Reminton's warranty department and they graciously sent out a new unit. Now this is a company that backs up their products. Highly recommended.

Good Little Iron

I've used this a couple of days now, and I do like it. I don't love it, but I'm still getting used to it. I do like that it doesn't pull and snag my hair like my other one did. It definitely heats up fast and gets HOT. No need to put it on high. My hair is fine and mostly straight. I use this to just refine it and get the slight wave out that I have in the back. I think with some more use I'll probably give it a 5 but still haven't had the perfect hair day yet. That might be more my fault than the irons fault though! :-)

This lil sleek flat iron is amazing! My purpose of buying this straightener is because of its "damage control." I love my hair! It's all natural and I don't want to ever damage it anymore by always straightening and curling. This iron is gentle on the hair and doesn't break it as you pass down. I also bought this because I wanted to avoid that "burning" smell on your hair. This one is covered with teflon fiber. Now, I have never used such a thing, but I figured, what do I have to lose.
