i was hoping this would straighten and reduce frizz. no such luck. it leaves your hair greasy if you apply too much. and my hair was really frizzy .

I have full, bushy hair that's partially frizzy but also partially straight (or at least not curly). I just bought a flat iron and it hasn't arrived yet, but I've been blowing out my hair each time and the product that works the BEST for me, as far as a cream/gel, is this one. I also use a few other products, like sprays and moisterizers and anti-frizz formulas. This helps straighten the hair and also gets rid of quite a lot of frizzies, even without the help of an iron. The only time I use the iron is when I've seen my stylist, and she uses this as well. I'll keep using it as long as it works better than anything else! It's not even that expensive.

Didn't work for me

I have a 5 month old perm that was dying and bought this product to see if I can get my hair back to being straight. I used a 3 inch diameter of gel on my hair, used a hair blower & brush. It did not work at all. Hair ended up frizzy and huge (like it had too much volume and was a gigantic blob). Pretty much how my perm looks if I don't use curly creme and just comb it out. Maybe it's not suppose to work on perms? Not sure, but will not be using it again.

I have yet to find a product that can achieve what it claims as well as this product. It removes frizziness, straightens, softens hair for a sleek look. I apply it to damp hair prior to blow drying my hair straight with a round brush. I have tried other like Sebastian's Potion 9 and although it works pretty well, it didn't impress me as much as this product. Further, this is a great value for the money! One tube lasts about two months on my medium/long hair.

This stuff does what it says it will do. I was having to use a product to control frizz and mousse for control. This product does both. I tried other things that "swore" to straighten out the curl and frizz with a blow dryer and was disappointed. I would recomend this to anyone with curly frizzy hair. The real test will come when I sit out on a humid night like last week! (Yuck) I had worked so hard and even used "Humidity Control" hairspray along with many other products. We shall see!!

I've been using this product for more than 10 yrs and still can't find anything better for my curly/frizzy hair. It helps control the frizz and keep the curl and adds a nice shine. I use it right after washing my hair or just to refresh my hair with a spritz of water.

Works great, cheaper than in a salon

I have used this product for several years and am very happy with it. I have very straight, fine hair that likes to get an errant wave or two and also tends to have flyaways. I rub some of this serum in my damp hair before I dry it and it works great. I use a round brush and a hair dryer to smooth my hair. If I forget to use the product, my hair is a mess.The price I paid was WAY better than in the salon or even at a place like Ulta.

It's good for curly hair too

I have naturally rather curly hair, and I use this serum to prevent it from getting all frizzy. The result is great; I have to tell women that they can not run their fingers through my curls until the third date.

I have been using Textureline Smoothing Serum for many years and it is fabulous! I use it before blow drying to smooth and straighten my hair. It works well with blow drying alone and even better with a straightening iron. It smooths out the frizzies without leaving a residue. I've tried many other products to smooth frizzies and straighten my hair, but nothing I have found work as well as Smoothing Serum.

Too greasy for me

This product does not work well for my thin straight hair. This product makes my hair look very greasy and does not hold well enough. The hold will only last me about half the day. Using too much of the stuff makes it look as if I didn't wash my hair for at more than 2 days.I have used American Crew Forming Cream and Fiber in the past and both have been much better in my opinion.The last thing I wanted to add is the smell. Many others have pointed out that it smells bad. I would say it reminds me of a smell like a very cheap hand wash you would use in a public bathroom or maybe a toilet cleaner. Not what I want to be reminded of when I am putting the product in my hair.I will not be purchasing this product again in the future.

Totally anti-frizs, a must-have for me!

My hairstylist got me into this product. I've been using the Smooth Down Shampoo and Conditioner for a few months now, and unlike with other products, I don't find the need to rotate in different products. I use these over and over.The conditioner is light and keeps my hair from getting weighed down. I'm able to wash and condition with these products, style my hair straight, and leave it for 3 days before I need to wash it again. These products get it clean and keep it healthy enough to avoid the drying effects of washing every day.Give these a shot if you have color treated or just plain frizzy and dry hair.
