I want to dye my hair light brown using a home dye, my hair is highlighted with bleach blonde highlights and low lights. Will it go a strange colour????

YES !! When you bleach hair it breaks down the colour spectrum if you are brown.... it will first go light brown then orange then yellow then blonde then white (colourless) that why you have to use peroxide at a higher volume than a normal hair dye to lift colour out.
When you decide to go darker again you have to replace all those colours and as we don't have orange you will have to put a red on first this will make the base before the brown.
if you don't replace the red tones your hair will go a strange colour of khaki (green) and it will be darker rather than light brown, especially if you do it yourself.
Sorry but the only way you will be able to go darker is to get the hairdresser to put a lot of brown lowlights in to blend out the blonde in stages and ask her to use a tint for the blonde if you still chose to have a few rather than a bleach. Trust me to get a lighter brown is going to have to be done gradually rather than all in one go its just too risky to do yourself.
