I happened along this product while shopping at a local organic grocery in Sebastopol, CA. Since I had recently learned about the harmful effects of SLS and parabens, I was eager to try it out. I have color treated hair, so chose the Rose and Chamomile Shampoo and Conditioner for Color Treated Hair. I am happy with the way it lathers, as many shampoos without SLS don't seem to lather very well. It cleans and leaves my hair looking and feeling soft. I also did my own informal hair loss count, and find that I have 90% less hairs in my brush since I began using this product. I would recommend this product very highly. I have tried several other brands, but this is the product I will continue to use!

Drying to Color-Treated Hair

I was disappointed with the performance of this product. It did not leave my hair soft and shiny as described. Rather than soothing my scalp, I found I had itchiness and irritation from the dryness. My hair became unmanageable and frizzy. I would not recommend this product if your hair is color-treated. My daughter who does not have color-treated hair was more pleased with its performance, rating it three stars.

I struggle to find an affordable conditioner that does not test on animals that actually works for my hair, which is long and fine and highlighted. It gets dry and static-y easily. When I first saw the bottle I was disappointed, because it was small and normally I use a lot of conditioner on my hair. However, this conditioner is thick and concentrated- a little goes a much longer way than with most conditioners. An 8 ounce bottle of EO Rose and Chamomile lasts as long as a 16 oz bottle of other conditioners for me. It really makes my hair manageable, and I love that it does not contain a lot of harsh chemicals. Score!

There's a curse in my family, the crappy hair gene. Sure, our hair is full and thick and basically indestructible to styling, but it goes grey, very early. As a result, I've been dying my hair for a very very very long time.I've tried Revlon, I've tried Ferrier, Garnier, Herbal Essence, Clairol, and basically every other hair dye you can think of, and I have to say I love the herbatint the best.Not only do I feel much more comfortable using a product I could practically eat on my hair, instead of a chemical that eats away at the shaft of my hair and can make me go blind if it seeps into my eyes, but the color is fantastic, and it makes my hair feel softer and nicer then before I colored it. Other companies boast this, but they lie!Recently I tried Revlon again, I couldn't find Herbatint, and it left my hair dried out, so that if I didn't use a heavy conditioner every time I washed my hair, my hair ended up feeling like straw when I washed it. Thats very unusual for my hair, usually nothing really damages it, so I was shocked at this! I missed herbatint! plus the color didn't stick, I find that most of them didn't.Herbatint has the nicest black I've found. It looks like natural black hair, but not too light, not anywhere near brown. its certainly BLACK, but it looks natural, not like you decided to stick your head into a pot of shoe polish and hope for the best, and not like your hair is dark brown, or like it hasn't been dyed at all. The color stays too, I've never really had it fade on me, plus, after I color, my hair is soft, really soft, and nice, and it doesn't stink like chemical reek, it smells like, well, hair. It's wonderful!Plus, if you dont have ALOT of hair, you save money. You can save the unused portions of color and use it later, something that I've found very effective. It doesn't make the product any worse, and you save money, instead of throwing away money with unused dye because the bottles warn you that it may "explode" if you keep it... (which is also rather unsettling... haha)I cant recommend it enough, buy some herbatint, save money, get really nice color, you wont regret it.

This shampoo sounds like it might be biodegradable and thus environmentally safe to use when camping. I can't tell from the ingredients, but if someone knows, please add a review because I would love to use this instead of the age-old camping shampoo that makes hair feel like felt.

Natural is just a gimmick- contains Parabens and more

Except for the aloe vera there is nothing natural about this product. I love the smell though, it has a light fresh smell that I find refreshing. However what is so natural about the following ingredients that are found in this product: Methylparaben, Propylparaben, Phenoxyetha Compare those preservatives above to thsse used in Aubrey Organic's shampoos: Aubrey's Preservative (Citrus Seed Extract, Vitamin A, C, E) Which of these are more natural?This company uses organic and natural as gimmicks and a marketing ploy. There is no difference between this product and any other one you find on the shelf that doesnt use the word natural. If you want a natural shampoo try another brand and read the ingredients before buying. Parabens are parabens, harmful chemicals are just that even if they are preceded by the world natural.

Impressive Product

I bought this because it was recommended by the skindeep website and a nurse at the hospital for a baby shampoo, because of its delicate, chemical-free nature. I thought I'd use it on myself before the baby comes out just to see how it is on my very fine, brittle hair. It turned out to be fantastic! My hair is full and rich and shiny and it's clearly a very good product. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because of 2 small drawbacks: It really does smell like Aloe Vera (not bad but not great) so there's no "aromatherapy" goin on there haha, and also it doesn't glide well in my hair; it's kind of like... you put it in one spot and that's where it stays-- it doesn't foam up and go all over my head so it's harder to wash my hair than other shampoos that have better glide. But yes I would certainly recommend it to people and I think it's a great product and will buy it again!

This shampoo works great for me. I use this along with the conditioner and my hair is soft and shiny. The only thing with this shampoo is it doesn't lather well at all. I had to get used to that and figure out how to make it lather. I just wet my hair and really quickly rub in a glob of shampoo.

I have color-treated hair. I have highlights, lowlights, and I flat iron my hair EVERYDAY. This shampoo is fabulous. And so is the matching conditioner. It has a very light scent. Nothing overpowering, and not really perfumy. A very natural scent. I love it.

Too harsh for color-treated hair

I bought this product thinking I was getting a shampoo for chemically treated hair as it says on the label- which I would assume color-treated falls into that category. To my disappointment, it fades out my color and leaves my hair feeling like straw. On top of that Regardless of the company name, there is only one organic ingredient.Unless you have un-colored and oily hair I would not recommend this product.

if you have fine hair that goes easily limp under the weight of most shampoos and conditioners, but you also need a good dose of moisture, there is nothing better that mop glisten. the difference in my hair is so noticeable whenever i use anything else. i am a die hard fan for life. i can not recommend this highly enough.
