well, i have naturally curly hair and ive always been fond of the straight look. i have straightened my hair using the flat iron i have at home and i liked the way it looked, but of course it wasnt like a professional chemical straightening and it comes out as soon as you wash it. im going into high school in August, and i wanna make a change. how much does a chemical straightening typically cost (if you could give me a range) and how long does it usually last?
and ive never bleached/dyed it.

It all depends on where you go. But please understand that once you chemically straighten your hair there is no turning back.

Chemically straight hair will have to be maintained and carefully looked after (conditioning treatments, wrapping your hair in a silk scarf at night, etc) so that it won't break off. And if you ever want your curly locks ever again you'll have to cut all the straight hair off and start over...or transition.

I have relaxed hair and it's healthy in it's own right...but it's a chore. I get a wash set/condition every wk, wrap every night, paying attention to the edges, and don't forget about stretching those relaxers so you don't overlap and your hair falls out.

You have the best thing going on. You can rock the curly look and straight when you want to. If i were u, I'd never put chemicals in my hair...But listen to me, your hair will be healthier and your scalp will thank you for it if you stay natural.
