Great Flat Iron!

Okay, so I've only had this straightener for a day but I love it! I had the green and black Paul Mitchell that a few people have mentioned and I loved it until the cord shorted out and it stopped working.But after reading reviews online I saw that quite a few people like this straightener. And it's really good! I have thick, wavy hair and I only had to run each section through one or two times for it to come out straight! It also looks super silky and takes the frizz out.Hopefully this one won't have the problems the black and green one had. So far it's amazing!

Not crazy about silicone strips

I am new to flat ironing and purchased this flat iron at the suggestion of my stylist-it is the one she uses and I have been happy with the results when she does my hair except for one time when I think she needed to clean the residue off her plates. When I first got the product I took it to the salon and had my stylist do my hair so my inexperience would not be a factor if I was not happy with the results. I am glad I did becuase it pulled my hair to the point where it looked kind of static-y, and she was pulling hair off the plates about every 4-5 swipes toward the end. When I asked she said hers did the same thing when it was new. I am admittedly a novice with this type of styling but that seemed odd to me. I went to a store that sells different types of flat irons and ran some of them over my hair (they weren't plugged in) just to see the difference-only this one and one really cheap one pulled. I deduced it was the silicone strips because none of the other irons had those, including the 1.25 Paul Mitchell iron, which I also tried. The other things most people look for in a flat iron are met by this product: it heats up in 60 seconds, it is easy to grip, cools off quickly, 1-2 glides to get the hair really straight, and the result is soft with a nice shine. However, it seems to me that prolonged use with that kind of pulling is damaging and a new product should not do that. It is too bad, otherwise this is a great iron and would have received a 5 star rating from me.

This is by far the BEST flat iron I have ever used, and I've tried many. Solia, Chi, Ion, that one they were advertising on TV for a while (but don't anymore? Because the thing kept BREAKING!) and some other ones I don't remember. I have thick, course, curly, and super damaged hair. I went to a professional stylist one day, and she made my hair gorgeous. Trimmed the ends, fixed the color, and gave me great advice on flat ironing techniques. I had to ask her what she was using, because I was fed up with my flat irons. She told me Paul Mitchell, she swears by it. I went to folica first, but was glad I decided to shop around because it's almost 100 dollars less on amazon, and that is an amazing price for this flat iron.I also, from time to time, straighten my boyfriend's long, thick, curly hair (he's hispanic). He's so happy with it too, because now he has "metal" hair, which is good for windmilling at shows I suppose!If you're on the fence about this flat iron, let me convince you, I was at the end of my rope. I dye my hair, and have for about 5 years now, and was seriously considering chemical straightening (BAD IDEA!!!!!). Thank goodness I went to my stylist first. Even when I do it myself, this flat iron makes my hair silky, soft, and it has great movement.

My stylist uses this on me and I absolutely love it, so much I bought one of my own! It really does leave your hair really healthy looking and shiny! The first time she used it on me was when I went from dark brown to platinum blonde (debbie harry platinum) and after she styled my hair with it-it was silky smoothe!

This is absolutely the best flat iron I have ever used (and I have a drawer full). My stylist used this iron on my hair and it left my hair shiny and extremely straight. I hesitated to purchase it due to the price, but it is worth every penny I spent. It curls hair as well as it straightens. Buy it.

This is the best volume product I have used, and I have used a lot of products. I have thin fine hair and it I put a a little bit on before blow drying and my hair not only seems thicker but it holds a curl for more then an hour.

This stuff is like magic in a bottle. I have medium to fine hair, but lots of it - it isnt weighty, never greasy, and I LOVE the painlessness when running a comb through my hair - can't find it locally, thus so worth the mail order process! Someone described it as mascara for your hair. I AGREE!

This curler does well to provide beautiful, slender ringlets. However, be carfeul because it CAN burn you, despite what I've heard vendors say. Get it online and it is WAY cheaper than the mall.

I love the versatility of this flat iron, I can use it when travelling in Europe with a plug adapter. It does a great job of straightening my hair which is very curly but I wish it had a temperature regulator instead of just an on/off switch. I love it in red!

I use this shampoo along with the hydrotherapie conditioner. LOVE LOVE LOVE the conditioner, but the shampoo is really nothing special. Smells great though.

Biolage IS a good shampoo, but it's not for me. I'm a 20-year-old male with longer hair and I had friends recommend this shampoo, and I was able to get a deal on both this and the condition for $25.Prior to using this I had been shampooing with Selsun Blue for Dry Skin, and conditioning with Nioxin (Really I had just been too lazy to order more Nioxin shampoo lol). I had found that combination to work rather well, but I'm always open for something better if it's possible.As you can probably assume, I have a very sensitive scalp. My stylist told me that I may possibly have a mild form of psoriasis too. I'm also in the early stages of a receeding hairline (which may be helped via psorisis from what I'm told), so finding a product that can preserve my hair as much as possible is very important to me. Unfortunately, I don't believe Biolage to be it.Biolage causes my scalp to break out, so I can only assume I'm allergic to something in it. Not only that, but it actually dries it out badly (a little strange for 'hydratherapie'). However, the worst aspect is I've immediately noticed an increase in the hair I lose -- most notably my hair line. I haven't lost hair on my hairline in a year, and within the first two or three shampoos with Biolage I noticed a difference. I'm only left to assume I'm losing hair on the rest of my head as well. While it's not a huge difference so far, if you're a guy who's just starting to lose your hair, this is your worst nightmare.What I do like about Biolage is the smell, and the fact that it lathers very easy. While it irritates my scalp, it makes my hair feel very manageable and fuller. I can't say I'm a large fan of the conditioner (which I think may be more to blame for my problems), but that's for another review.If you're a male with a sensitive scalp in the early stages of hair recession, I'd recommend you try Nioxin first.

Wonderful product

I got this product at least 6 months ago and there's still a lot left of it. It's really creamy and in my opinion better than Aveda and a looot of other hair care products, definately one of the best products I've tried on my hair when paired with the conditioner. It's also not as expensive as kerastase, and works better on my fine hair. Usually, I'll put on a leave-in conditioner afterwards(still searching for a favorite here, used to really like redken no.4 lushwhip), then a little biosilk, then flat iron my hair. =)
